Xbox Support is definitely one of the top on the market when it comes to responding to issues that concern their consoles. This is just another example of that.
The following tweet was shared on Xbox Support Twitter after initial reports about Xbox consoles crashing with NBA 2K22:
Although it's been an issue for a couple of weeks on Xbox and PlayStation 4, more reports of the console crash started popping up very recently about people encountering major problems when trying to specifically play NBA 2K22 on Xbox Series X or S as we've reported ourselves a couple of weeks in the past.
When trying to load up NBA 2K22 on Xbox Series X/S, a number of people have had the system crash, followed by a message stating that the console was designed to shut down automatically because of poor ventilation.
However, there aren't airflow issues that players experience using their consoles, it sounds like, but rather some kind of glitch triggering it.
NBA 2K22 isn't the only game having issues. People have also started posting on forums that they're seeing the same message when trying Madden 22 or FIFA 22. FIFA 22 is only available through the EA Play 10 hours free trial.
It's even more interesting because this issue was caused by two games by 2K Sports, and two from EA Sports, which are all sports-related games.
Just a few days after, however, it appears to be a problem as per the Xbox Status page, which has a problem with NBA 2K22; however, it claims that it's near getting a fix.
Dexerto also reports that they sent a follow up tweet where they announced that they were looking into issues with Madden 22 (and FIFA 22) and the other issues mentioned in the previous paragraphs. However, the tweet was deleted later for unknown reasons. If you want to know more about can go https://www.mmoexp.com/Nfl-22/Coins.html
